The concrete canoe team has research and material testing for the 2011 NCRC entry. Mixes are being held in C-113 on: TUESDAYS at 6:00 PM Everyone is welcome to come and join. |

| Concrete Canoe Team Places Third in Regional Competition | |
| The Concrete Canoe Team at Western Michigan University placed third at the North Central Regional Conference (NCRC) hosted by Lawrence Technological University on April 3 and 4, 2009. The 2009 concrete canoe, The Black Pearl, featured over 88% recycled material and contained recycled medical waste glass as the main aggregate. The canoe was finished with a wet sander to resemble granite. This year’s Team was made up of 25 dedicated members who worked to produce the best concrete canoe ever! | |
